Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri is an Indian actress who achieved fame for her role in Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Beta Saajan. Her career began in the 80s before coming to prominence with her performance in the film Tezaab in which she was a part of the cast with the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. She next appeared in the film Dil where she starred alongside Aamir Khan. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she began learning to dance from a very young age. She began acting when she was a youngster and struggled for several years because most of her initial film projects were unsuccessful. She finally found success, and she became one of the most prominent actresses in the Indian film industry. Following her wedding, she took a break from her acting career prior to returning. In the last few years, Dixit had a major role to play in Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggles of women in India. Dixit is nominated in fifteen Filmfare Awards. Of these, she has won 8. Padma Shri - the fourth most prestigious civilian award of India awarded to Dixit. Her social work is also known to the world.
